VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
EXPERIENCE & UNDERSTANDING
At the heart of the Home-Start High Peak service is the unswerving belief that parents play the key role in giving children the best start in life. Other parents have the experience and understanding to support families who need help.
Our volunteers are committed and caring people who offer their time freely for the benefit of others. Most are parents themselves. They bring with them personal experience, skills and knowledge of the resources available in their local area.
They are friendly, approachable, reliable, good listeners and respectful of the needs of each individual family. The support they provide is tailor-made, emotional and practical.
Our volunteers are highly valued and we make a full commitment to them, offering a high quality experience and opportunities for personal development.
As a volunteer you will be properly prepared for your role and there is on-going training. There will be free provision of a DBS (formerly known as a criminal record check). You will be fully insured. You’ll have the right to withdraw from any activity or situation that you think is inappropriate. There will be access at all times to the co-ordinators. And you will be entitled to claim expenses in connection with your voluntary work.
