LOCAL SUPPORT

Home-Start High Peak, registered charity number 1110053, has been supporting local families since 2004, growing successfully through the efforts of a team of committed volunteers under professional guidance.

Working through a group of carefully selected and trained parent volunteers, wide-ranging support is provided for families who are not coping as well as they would like.

Families can be guided on a journey of change as they are helped to overcome such difficulties as parental stress, physical or mental illness, post-natal depression, disability, bereavement, abuse or social isolation.

Volunteers regularly visit High Peak families at home, concentrating on emotional and practical support throughout difficult times and for as long as is needed. This friendly, parent to parent care is a simple yet effective way of enabling families to get back on track.

The geographical area covered includes all of the communities within High Peak Borough Council in north-west Derbyshire. We are the only voluntary organisation providing our kind of support in the area.
